We are supporting an international transport and logistics organisation following a recent strategic acquisition in Germany. As part of this growth, the business is seeking an experienced Financial Controller (Team Lead) to act as a trusted business partner to senior management and to help drive financial performance, governance, and operational insight.
This is a high-impact role offering broad exposure across finance leadership, compliance, reporting, and commercial decision support within a dynamically evolving environment.
The Role
Reporting to a regional finance leader, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager and leadership team by providing clear financial insights, robust forecasting, and strong controllership. The role combines hands-on finance execution with strategic business partnering.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the local finance team, ensuring high performance, engagement, and alignment with business priorities
- Act as the primary finance business partner to the General Manager, supporting strategic and operational decision-making
- Ensure strong internal controls and full compliance with group finance policies and procedures
- Deliver accurate and timely month-end close and management reporting in line with corporate calendars
- Prepare and analyse financial results, including variance analysis vs forecast and prior year
- Take ownership of statutory accounts preparation and on-time local filings
- Drive forecast accuracy through weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasting processes
- Lead the Annual Operating Plan, long-range planning, and quarterly forecasts
- Partner with operations and commercial teams to establish standardized KPIs measuring service efficiency, productivity, and profitability
- Implement reporting and insights around pipeline performance, quotation activity, and service contract profitability
Your Profile
- Proven experience in a Finance Controller, Finance Manager, or similar role
- Strong background in financial reporting, forecasting, and compliance within an international or matrix organization
- Demonstrated ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence commercial decisions
- Experience leading or coordinating finance teams
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable business insight
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Fluency in English and German
